Barefoot Exploration was founded in January 2019 by Esther Bordet, PhD, P.Geo (non-practicing). Esther is a field geologist with ten years of mapping experience in British Columbia and Yukon. She acquired her main training for bedrock mapping during her years at the Yukon Geological Survey. Below is a timeline of experience, as well as links to relevant publications.

January 2019 

Founded Barefoot Exploration, Whitehorse, YT

 

April 2015 - January 2019

Project geologist at the Yukon Geological Survey. Mapping of the east Lake Laberge area at 1:50,000 scale.

May 2014 - Sept 2014

Senior field assistant at the Yukon Geological Survey. Mapping of metamorphosed rocks of the Yukon Tanana terrane in southwest Yukon.

January 2010 - March 2014

PhD candidate at the University of British Columbia, Mineral Deposit Research Unit, Vancouver BC. Study of Eocene volcanic stratigraphy in central British Columbia in relation to Cordilleran tectonic evolution during the Cenozoic, and implications for regional epithermal gold mineralization.

 

Oct 2007 - Dec 2009

Junior resource Geologist at Golder Associates Ltd. Preparation of NI 43-101 compliant Resource Estimates. Participation in geotechnical core logging and pit slope stability monitoring field programs.

 

Sept 2005 - Sept 2007

MSc candidate at the University of Quebec, Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique. Structural analysis of Anticosti Island, assessing the effect of successive Appalachian orogenic events on the platform, and implications for the formation of oil and gas reservoirs. 

2001 to 2005

Undergraduate studies and Master 1 in Earth Sciences at University Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France.
